Workshop 1 • July 9
Summer Kickoff: Potty Training Starts Before the Diaper Comes Off
Use this summer to teach 90% of potty training while the diaper is still on.
Most parents think potty training starts the day the diaper comes off. It doesn’t. By the time that day arrives, 90% of the work should already be done — and summer gives you exactly the time to do it. In this session, Gia & Laura introduce the complete Good to Go framework and show you how to use the Rehearsal Period to front-load the learning before a single diaper comes off. You’ll leave with a clear picture of where your child is, what they’re ready for, and exactly how to spend your summer getting them there.
- The VCP tool and why body awareness is the core value
- The 3 types of body awareness: sensation, action, and urgency
- Readiness across every domain — what’s teachable vs. what isn’t
- The Universal Potty Sequence: every step your child needs to learn
- The Rehearsal Period: the most important step most parents skip
- Poop posture: how to figure out your child’s while they’re still in diapers
- Essential gear only: what you actually need and what’s a waste of money
Workshop 2 • July 23
Go Day: Your Game Plan for the First Few Days
How to set up, what to expect, and how to handle everything that follows.
You’ve done the rehearsal. Now it’s time to go. The difference between a smooth Go Day and a stressful one almost always comes down to what you do the day before — and how prepared you are for everything that follows. In this session, Laura & Gia take you through the full arc: from setting up your home to navigating the world outside it. Because potty training doesn’t stop at your front door.
- Prepare your environment before the diaper comes off
- Signs they need to go and how to respond
- How to handle misses (and why we don’t call them accidents)
- Prompts, reminders, and invitations: the difference matters
- Routine tries: how to build them in without a battle
- Standing vs. sitting: what’s right for your child
- The stages of parental involvement: when to step in, when to step back
- The subtle art of wiping
- Your miss kit: what to pack so leaving the house isn’t terrifying
- Car rides, public bathrooms, and transitioning back to school
Workshop 3 • July 30
Curveballs Happen, Keep Going
Challenges aren’t a sign something’s wrong. They’re part of the process.
If you’ve hit a wall, you’re not failing — you’re in the part nobody talks about. Every child moves through potty training differently, and the challenges that come up aren’t detours. They’re the process. In this session, we reframe what challenges actually mean and walk you through the Good to Go approach to the most common ones, so you can stop second-guessing and start responding with confidence.
- Fear: why it happens and how to meet it without making it bigger
- Performance anxiety: freezing with an audience
- Resistance and defiance: how to tell the difference and respond
- Intense focus on play: when they’re too busy to stop
- Distraction and indifference
- Poop problems: the most common physical challenge
- Physical lack of sensation awareness: what to do when they genuinely don’t feel it
- Bedtime distraction and nighttime readiness
- The advanced schedule: navigating school, childcare, and multiple caregivers
